EAST VALLEY JAGUARS
                                                                                                                           "WIN"

2/09/08  East Valley Jaguars -36    Northern Arizona Coyotes -6
The Jaguars showed up from the beginning play on Saturday as #45 Ray Hector stepped in front of the receiver on the
first play from scrimmage and took an interception 55 yards for a pick six to put the Jags on the board.  The Coyotes
came back hungry on their second possession as #16 showed heart and speed as he broke a couple of tackles to go
43 yards and even the score at 6.   The Jaguar O then took over as #8 Fred Lassiter hit #80 Kyle Miller on his first two
passes for a total of 57 yards setting up an 11 yard pass for the score to #86 Jacob Reid, after a failed two pt
conversion attempt the Jags led 12-6.  The Coyotes were able to move the ball again until #40 Isaac Winfield stepped in
front of a pass and came up with his 2nd Int of the year, giving the ball back to the Jaguar O.  Lassiter again moved the
Jags down the field swiftly with a balanced passing attack finding #11 Darrian Lynch, #85 Darrian Henney, #80 Miller
and #86 Jacob Reid eventually Lassiter took matters in his own hands and ran it in from 5 yds out giving the Jags a
19-6 lead at the half.  The Second Half continued with Lassiter leading the O down field on the first drive and found #86
Jacob Reid in the corner of the end zone for an 18 yd TD and the Jags led 26-6.   The Defense picked up its game in
the second half stifling the Coyote O, and getting the ball back to the O after the first 3 and out of the game.  Thats
when #38 Joe Brissette took over and began gashing the Coyote D.  On 2nd and 6 from the 38, Brissette swept right
and cut back across the field breaking 3 tackles and dancing into the clear as #38 scored from 38 to put the came out
of reach.  Jags 33 Coyotes 6.  The 4th Qtr was much of the same as Brissette and the O line pounded the ball down
field but two drives stalled inside the red zone.  The final touches were put on the scoring when #7 Carlos Salcido
booted a 40 yd field goal with 5:18 to play.   #38 Joe Brissette thwarted a late Coyote drive with the 3rd of the Jags int's
of the day.   The Defense played better but still has a lot of work to do as the Coyotes were able to move the ball on the
ground consistently. #41 Tucker Schaefer led the Jags D with 10 tackles and a fumble recovery.  #52 Tracy Peoples,
#24 Justin James and #45 Ray Hector all had 6 tackles to support the D.   This week will be a very tough challenge as
the Jags visit the powerful Glendale Bulldogs.  The Jags must continue to work and get better if they hope to even the
record at 2-2.

1/26/08   East Valley Jaguars -0    Phoenix Outlaws - 19
Jaguars played the Outlaws much tougher than they did the Rams in week 1, but still came up on the short end of the
scoreboard.   A full squad was back and hungry to pick up its first win of  the season.  The Jaguar D  led by Jabbar
Harris, Isaac Winfield, Tracy Peoples, Jason Butler, Ray Warren and Gordon Lindenmuth held the Outlaws to two first
half field goals.   The Offense had flashes of incredible athletic talent, but again costly penalties and turnovers led to all
of the Outlaws 19 points.   The rhythm of the Jag O will pick up with consistency at practice and more continuity, but we
must eliminate mental errors and penalties.  This new team is going to have to look to some of its veteran leaders in the
upcoming weeks to get back on track.  As we have said from day 1 ....."It is not where you start....it's where you finish
that counts"

HARD WORK ....PAYS OFF

1/19/08   East Valley Jaguars -6     Tempe Rams -57

The Jaguars opened the season with a demoralizing effort on Saturday morning.  Undermanned, and outplayed from the beginning
possession. The Tempe Rams overpowered the Jags 57-6.  The final score did not, however, reflect the heart and determination of the 19
players who took the field for the EV Jags, many playing out of position for the team cause.
In one of the few bright spots #2 Demetrius Stewart shook off 3 Ram defenders in the back field and broke off a 34 yard run that
showcased his tremendous athletic ability.  Watch for more highlights in the weeks to come from this budding superstar.  Stewart's run set
up a 10 yd TD pass from #10 Brian Donovan to Darrian Lynch for the Jaguars only score.  The defense was led by #40 Isaac Winfield and
#98 Marquise Price.  In the end the Tempe Rams simply out-manned, out-played and out-coached us in the opener, showing why they will
be a force to be reckoned with in Copper Football 2008.  Good Luck Rams and Congratulations on a well earned victory.
The task does not get any easier in Week 2 as the Jags will host the Phoenix Outlaws, we know the Outlaws will come prepared and
hungry, so it time to get back to practice, get back to work, and come prepared to play a tough football game at 4:00.
